The Board of Christian Care plans and oversees the social ministry programs of Trinity to assist those in need of food and clothing. Trinity co-sponsors Eleanor's Pantry, located at 221 Drew Street in Paw Paw, an emergency food supply stocked with basic staples for those in need. Eleanor's Pantry is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. They can be reached directly at 415-0444.
Christian Care collects and distributes food for the food pantry ministry, organizes the Christmas gift tree with items for those in need, sponsors benefits, gathers and delivers clothing for seminary students (the men learning to be Lutheran Pastors and their families), Christian Care also coordinates a bake sale for Trinity Lutheran School, creates health kits for Lutheran World Relief, and participates in Habitat for Humanity.
Can you help Christian Care help others? The first Sunday of the month is "Food Pantry Sunday." Non-perishable items may be left in the grocery cart in the Parish Hall on this Sunday (or any day) to help keep the pantry stocked.
All other events of Christian Care are open to and dependent on the help of the congregation. Please participate in any and all that you can!
