Our Missionaries, The Rudowskes
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Just a quick note about what we're up to here. The very first meeting of the Shekgalagari Language Committee is March 2. We hope this is the beginning of an effective grass roots movement to engage the Bakgalagari people with the living Word of God! We ask for your prayers on forming the committee and working together-this is a very important step in the process, will take time, and is bound to have roadblocks but we pray for clear communication, that personal agends are set aside, and that the many and varied churches and people in this community will work together. As Chief Motshege of the village of Tshane says, "We need the Bible so our churches will teach Biblical christianity not whatever they make up and so they will stop fighting with each other."
Additionally we are fast and furious into renovations of our guest house in preparation for the arrival of our volunteer teacher, Ranae Holdeman, who may arrive as early as the end of this month! Check out pictures of the renovation work on our website and check back for updates as the month progresses. Ranae still needs some funding to get here to work with us for six months - a much needed assistant to help teach. Please consider giving to help her get here by sending a gift to LBT, PO Box 2050, Aurora IL 60507, designated 'Ranae Holdeman.'
Also Rich will participate in a two week advanced translation principles workshop with three candidates for translation work. This workshop is the first of its kind in the world being hosted by the authors of new training materials, and will involve workers from four or five other language groups at various stages of work here in Botswana. It is an exciting thing to be part of so early in our process. Please pray for safe travel for facilitators coming from Germany, England, America, Kenya, Congo, etc., as well as for participants from all over Botswana.
Lastly we thank you for your contined prayer, giving, and encouragement - we are so blessed by all of you and blessed by all of you and blessed to serve God in this place.
Grace and Peace,
Rich, Maya and the Crew
