Research has shown that the most important indication on how well a child will do in school is the level of parental involvement in that child’s education.

Show your children you support their education by getting involved in the PALS group at Trinity Lutheran School. “PALS” stands for Parents and Lutheran Schools and it is essentially the equivalent of the public schools’ PTA or PTO.

Annual objectives of PALS includes:

    • Assisting the teachers with any help they may need in their classrooms
    • Plan/execute school-wide events/functions
    • Raise funds for projects/items that are needed, but not already in the school budget
    • Enlist as many parent volunteers for different school functions and classroom needs
    • Communicate between the school administration and the parents, so that everyone is aware of each other's needs
    • Alerting parents to all the volunteer opportunities available

You need not perpetually volunteer for PALS activities (although that certainly would be nice) or be at school all day. We understand that you have chaotic lives filled with to-do’s and responsibilities.

Just volunteering to bring in treats for a special need or participating in a teacher’s science laboratory experiment would be a great indication to your children how important you feel their education is.

Why not check out the call for volunteers section and see how you can get involved. There are simple ways to get involved and more extensive projects to help out with as well. If you have any other ideas or ways you’d like to get involved, please feel free to contact Kori at switzerdk@yahoo.com.

We look forward to working along side you in the coming months to bring all our children a more enhanced education.

Why join PALS?

Be Informed Not only will your children know that you care deeply about their education by getting involved, but you’ll be better able to encourage them since you’ll know first-hand what’s happening at school.

Get connected While working along side other parents, you’ll have opportunities to share parenting tips, hear about great vacation spots, swap recipes and more. You’ll not only be getting involved in your child’s education, but you’ll also form friendships that will last years.

Watch Yourself Grow By volunteering with PALS, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause - your child and all children at Trinity.

Speak Up PAL's can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

Witness Improvement By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Trinity’s PALS group plays an important role in fundraising to provide money for projects and materials that are needed for your children’s education.

Be a Role Model By becoming a PALS member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
