Becky Berends' Education and Experience

 

Teaching experience: 

• Afternoon teacher at Trinity Lutheran Childcare 2004-2005
• Taught at Trinity Lutheran School since 2005, split grades 4th and 5th, and also splits of 3rd and 4th
• Work at the Trinity Childhood Development Center 2010

 

Church and community service:

• Attends church here at Trinity Lutheran Church
• Volunteered for Vacation Bible School here at TLC
• Attends Woodhaven Reformed Church when visiting her family in Wyoming, MI

 

Education/Training:

• Western Michigan University -BA in Elementary Education 1999-2004
• Concordia University-Masters Program in Educational Leadership   

 

Other:

• Becky Berends grew up in Wyoming, Michigan.  She attended Western Michigan University in 1999, and has lived in the area since then.  "As a teacher, I like to remember 1Corinthians.  'Love is patient, love is kind... Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.'  As a teacher in a Christ centered school, it reminds me that the children I teach will learn better in a loving, trusting, and patient environment, just as we, as Christians, ask of our Lord."
