Teaching experience: 

• One year of teaching kindergarten in South Haven Public Schools
• Five years of teaching third grade in South Haven Public Schools
• One year of teaching fifth grade in South Haven Public Schools
•  Fifteen years as a stay-at-home mom
• Seven years of various 2nd/3rd combinations at Trinity Lutheran School

 

Church and community service:

• Member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan
• Member of Altar Ministry at Zion
• Member of Personnel Ministry at Zion
• Served as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, and Board of Directors member at Zion 

 

Education/Training:

• B.A. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
• Masters Degree completed at Western Michigan University in reading
• State-certified to teach grades K-8, all subjects

• Born and raised in South Haven, Michigan
• Married to John for 28 years
• Has three children: Sarah, Megan, and Erik
• Has coached high school girls’ swimming in South Haven
• Has coached age group swimming in Plainwell and Mattawan
